Support of School Property Purchase

 As promised, I have great news to share!

The school property we have been renting has been offered to us to purchase. This is very great news as once it becomes officially our own, we can begin the repairs and refurbishing needed. We have started a campaign to raise the funds!

Robert Onsando, our facilities manager, has come from Kenya and we have been traveling since Nov 10, visiting people, and churches and making new friends to share our message and raise the necessary funds.

Our goal is 110,000 USD which covers the purchase price of 69,000 and the costs to renovate and refurbish. We stand at 35,000 currently in donations and pledges. As a result of our visiting different areas of the country from NYC to Houston, Texas we have also met people who want to be part of the team. We have just elected a new board member from Decatur, Georgia who will be spearheading our next year’s fundraising programs and we have a new volunteer bookkeeper to help out with the keeping of records. Their names will be added to the documents.

Our new school academic year will begin, on Jan 23 so we need to be prepared to add two classes. Grades 7 and 11 by the Kenya requirements. Currently, our operational budget has been 6,000 per month and will continue until the school becomes self-sustaining which is planned for two years. In the budget, staff salaries and food supplies are accounted for with extras handled as needed. We will continue to have fundraisers and events to fulfill these needs.

“ Pure and undefiled religion before God is this: to visit the orphans, fatherless, and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unspotted from the world”.
